Happy Friday! Here are this week’s interesting eBay auctions for vintage football cards and related collectibles:
- These two Spanish 1964 Bob Hayes Olympics cards caught my eye, so I did a little research on them. I learned that the cards were part of a 343-card set, and they went into an album like this one. I also found that Bob Hayes did not compete in the hurdles in the 1964 Olympics. My guess is that the second card in the auction actually pictures Hayes Jones.
- If you like freaky misprints, you’ll like this blank 1968 Champion Corn Flakes Floyd Little card.
- This 1888 Mayo Fred Murphy card started at just $9.99. It’s not pretty, but, as my friends say, any Mayo is a good Mayo.
- If you can’t afford a whole 1969 Topps 4-in-1 card, maybe you could swing the top half of one?
- This is a cool item, and it started at $1.99: a complete album of 1963 Post CFL cards.
- I like the main image for this full set of 1948 Bowman football cards.
- The description for this 1962 Post Jim Ninowski card says that it’s hand cut. Could you tell?
- Alas, the closest thing to vintage among this week’s most-watched football card auctions is a full display box of 1986 cello packs.
- And, finally, a plug for another of my own Spring Cleaning auctions: 100 different Ex-ExMt 1969 Topps football cards, including a few Hall of Famers. Starting bid: 1 red cent!
